IMPACT PROJECT
Integrated Measures for Prevention and Care in TB

In partnership with the Karnataka Health Promotion Trust (KHPT), as the Principal Recipient under the Global Fund’s IMPACT (Integrated Measures for Prevention and Care in TB) India project, World Health Partners (WHP) will foster community-led initiatives to improve and combat tuberculosis (TB) and promote public health. The IMPACT project will engage with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) via initiatives like "TB Mukt Panchayat," empowering local governments and communities to lead the charge against TB. By leveraging TB survivors as champions at Ayushman Aarogya Mandir (formerly known as Health and Wellness Centres), to enhance community awareness, strengthen counselling, promote early detection, treatment adherence, reduce lost to follow-ups and ensure comprehensive care for affected individuals.
The three year project (2024-2027) is being implemented in four states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand covering a population of 74 million to eliminate TB and foster healthier communities.
Since August 2024, the project team has successfully mapped 4,239 Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs (AAMs). Through this initiative, we have identified 7,264 TB survivors and trained 6,888 of them as TB Champions. The trained TB Champions have been placed in 3,850 AAMs, and by October 2025, 78% of them have actively led community engagement activities. Under the PRI engagement component, the team has trained 92% of Gram Pradhans on TB in their respective panchayats to help make their panchayat TB-free.
WHP welcomes the opportunity to collaborate to implement this commitment.
