IMPACT PROJECT
Integrated Measures for Prevention and Care in TB

In partnership with the Karnataka Health Promotion Trust (KHPT), as the Principal Recipient under the Global Fund’s IMPACT (Integrated Measures for Prevention and Care in TB) India project, World Health Partners (WHP) will foster community-led initiatives to improve and combat tuberculosis (TB) and promote public health. The IMPACT project will engage with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) via initiatives like "TB Mukt Panchayat," empowering local governments and communities to lead the charge against TB. By leveraging TB survivors as champions at Ayushman Aarogya Mandir (formerly known as Health and Wellness Centres), to enhance community awareness, strengthen counselling, promote early detection, treatment adherence, reduce lost to follow-ups and ensure comprehensive care for affected individuals.
The three year project (2024-2027) is being implemented in four states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand covering a population of 74 million to eliminate TB and foster healthier communities.
Since August 2024, the project has successfully mapped 2,387 Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs (AAMs). Through this initiative, 4,093 TB survivors have been identified, out of which 2,801 TB survivors has been trained as TB Champions. These trained individuals have been placed in 1,735 AAMs, and by February 2025, 54% of the TB Champions have actively initiated community engagement activities.
WHP welcomes the opportunity to collaborate to implement this commitment.
