The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) launched in 2021 by the National Health Authority (NHA), Government of India to develop an integrated healthcare infrastructure and transform the health ecosystem for the people living in our country. The ABDM pilot started in 2020 in the six Union Territories viz. Ladakh, Chandigarh, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and thereafter expanded in all the States and Union Territories.

WHP started work with the National Health Authority to onboard private-sector doctors, clinics, and small hospitals on ABDM in Amritsar, Patiala- Punjab and Patna in Bihar. The process is focused on conducting a mapping exercise of all private providers; sensitizing them on the governments mission; registering doctors and clinics/hospitals on ABDM’s Healthcare Professionals Registry and Health Facility Registry, respectively, and deploying the ABDM-enabled hospital management information system (HMIS) for generating electronic health records that are linked to patients’ Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), which is a unique health account number for Indian citizens.

The team provides hands-on support with onboarding healthcare professionals and facilities onto the ABDM ecosystem. Build capacities of the engaged healthcare professionals and act as a liaison with the digital health solution provider for any troubleshooting. Follow-up visits for any kind of assistance is also carried out for the doctors and their staff members. Till August 31, 2024 in Punjab 559 Health providers, 448 health facilities and 51,827 ABHA-linked records were registered on ABDM platform and in Bihar, 377 Health providers and 199 Health facilities and 35,574 ABHA-linked records were enrolled on ABDM platform
