WHP Kenya Team
Akhilesh is one of the founding members of WHP India, with over 15 years of rural health service delivery experience and expertise in program management. He began his career with Janani, a reputable Indian NGO based in Bihar as a field coordinator and was instrumental in expanding Janani’s social marketing and social franchising program in Bihar and Jharkhand. He later worked with the public sector on tuberculosis control. His core competency is in social marketing, social franchising, training, program management, family planning and reproductive health, Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. Prior to joining WHP, Akhilesh worked with the Saakar Foundation, a Patna-based NGO engaged in the fields of health awareness. Akhilesh has a master’s degree in sociology and MBA in marketing. Currently based in Kisumu, he is helping the Kenyan team implement tele-health projects, besides business development in East Africa.
Daniel has been a member of the WHP team since the inception of the Kenya program. He coordinates the implementation of WHP’s two health networks in Kenya, a network of women entrepreneurs who facilitate tele-consultations from remote locations and a network of tele-linked nurse operated clinics. He oversees monitoring and evaluation of the project, and organizes and facilitates sensitization and service delivery events in the community. As part of linkages with key health stakeholders, he spearheads collaboration efforts and WHP’s engagement in meetings with other NGOs and the government at the county and national levels. Daniel has previously worked with Medicines San Frontiers (MSF) in Kenya’s Dadaab refugee complex. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and a master’s degree in public health.
