One of the most significant inequalities faced by mankind revolves around access and quality of healthcare. A recent study reported in The Lancet shows the degree of inequality, as well as the recent progress or lack of the same across 195 countries:
India ranks 154th out of 195, and the most relevant comparison in terms of magnitude-geography and population-is China, which ranks at 82 on the scale. What is India missing out on?
WHP’s work revolves around bring quality healthcare to underserved populations-both rural and the urban poor. While we strive to increase and improve access, the potential for work to be done in this field is tremendous. We have barely touched the tip of this distressing iceberg.
